Position Title:   Section Manager

 

Job Description:

Manage and oversee career development of department personnel, leading recruiting activities, and conducting bi-annual performance appraisals. Coordinate workload, making assignments, and reviewing staff performance to ensure efficient and effective operations. Act as a technical advisor on Network, Integration & Automation (NIA) Engineering projects, ensuring quality control, advancing department tools and workflows, and proactively managing corrective actions. Assist the NIA Business Line Manager in directing business development for the Michigan and Great Lakes Market, including new client acquisition and expansion with existing clients, financial performance of the Detroit NIA team. Identify new opportunities and managing the pursuit process, which includes making strategic decisions, developing pricing, and conducting risk reviews. Mentor and advocate for staff by providing guidance, facilitating opportunities, and focusing on recruitment and retention. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Domestic travel required up to 15% for internal meetings, client kick off meetings and final presentations.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of engineering experience in telecommunications or automation industries.

Must have five (5) years of experience with the following:

  • Engineering Automation and Integration design, testing and commissioning support.
  • SCADA 'points' list.
  • RTU design & configurations.
  • Integrating remote automation into 'wide area networks,' EMS (energy management system) implementation, and HMI (human machine interface) programming.
  • Wide Area Network (WAN) engineering.
  • Change Management.
  • Monitoring and Controlling project activities during project execution.

Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of engineering experience in telecommunications or automation industries in lieu of Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of described experience.

Must have four (4) years of experience with the following:

  • Engineering Automation and Integration design, testing and commissioning support.
  • SCADA 'points' list.
  • RTU design & configurations.
  • Integrating remote automation into 'wide area networks,' EMS (energy management system) implementation, and HMI (human machine interface) programming.
