Senior Communications Specialist

Position Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist that will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic communications for large scale clinical IT implementation. This position requires a deep understanding of healthcare communication needs and the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders.

This is a 40 hour/week, 6 month freelance assignment that will be onsite in Livonia, MI a few days per week. This person will begin 01/07/2025 at the latest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute internal communication plans that align with business objectives.
  • Serves as advisor to project leads and executives and their teams in the development of strategies to communicate goals and progress of clinical IT implementation across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and insights for communication initiatives.
  • Provide support for healthcare-related communications, ensuring clarity and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage client relationships and expectations, providing timely updates and feedback on communication strategies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, with a focus on internal communications in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare communication practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Must be comfortable with highly-matrixed organizations and ambiguity. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in client management and project management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of clinical communications is preferred.

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
