About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Shelter Support Worker to join our team in providing support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. As a Shelter Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients, providing crisis intervention, and connecting clients with community resources. You will work closely with a team of professionals to develop and implement individualized service plans that promote self-sufficiency and housing stability. Your work will have a direct impact on the lives of those we serve, and you will play a critical role in helping individuals and families transition out of homelessness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a related field

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field

  • Experience working with diverse populations

  • Knowledge of community resources and services

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing homelessness

  • Assist clients with accessing community resources, including healthcare, employment, and housing

  • Develop and implement individualized service plans that promote self-sufficiency and housing stability

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation

  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of clients

Skills:

As a Shelter Support Worker, you will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and connect them with the resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency. You will also use your strong organizational and time management skills to develop and implement individualized service plans and maintain accurate client records. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. Additionally, your knowledge of community resources and services, as well as your experience working with diverse populations, will be beneficial in providing effective support to our clients.
