Responsibilities

The PMO Manager is responsible for supporting the overall PM team by effectively leading them from ideation to production implementation and business success. In this position, you will manage multiple projects from inception to deployment. Engages cross-functionally, applies Agile principles, and uses the agile scrum framework to organize, define, measure, and accelerate work. Aids the team in eliminating, reducing, or avoiding challenges that impede progress. This role is part of the enterprise PMO and works closely with the value stream technology teams, business stakeholders, product owners, and other operational teams across the bank.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Project Alignment & Planning
    • Partner with various teams to understand upcoming projects and how they align to enterprise objectives.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, identifying key milestones and key coordination points.
    • Define and create project timelines, identifying additional resources needed.
  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple projects from inception to deployment and value realization.
    • Ensure projects stay on task and aligned with success criteria and business value.
    • Utilize appropriate methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid) based on project objectives.
    • Drive execution of project deliverables within the company's development lifecycle standards.
  • Task & Resource Management
    • Assign tasks and allocate resources to meet goals within budget and timelines.
    • Ensure timely collaboration with Solution & Business Architects, Development Teams, QA resources, Security resources, and Technology project managers.
    • Coordinate and organize remote teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on success criteria, goals, and status updates.
    • Liaise with Procurement for projects dependent on third-party contracts.
    • Collaborate with core project team members and management through status reporting and issue escalation.
  • Risk & Issue Management
    • Anticipate and identify risks, opportunities, dependencies, and costs.
    • Plan resources, milestones, and deliverables to manage and implement projects.
    • Escalate issues and drive problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Understand agreed upon RACI and manage to continual alignment to roles from inception to implementation.
  • Role & Responsibility Alignment
    • Ensure alignment to roles and responsibilities within the project team (Project Sponsors, SMEs, Business Analysts, and Technology).
    • Manage to the agreed-upon RACI, maintaining alignment from inception to implementation.
    • Coordinate project tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth execution.
  • Accountability & Performance
    • Create accountability among project team members to drive on-time delivery of tasks and deliverables
  • Methodology & Process Improvement
    • Apply Agile principles and use the Agile Scrum framework to organize, define, measure, and accelerate work.
    • Assist in the development of procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaboration & Facilitation
    • Lead project facilitation across the PMO.
    • Drive collaboration between Business Sponsors, Technology Resources, and other operational teams.
    • Partner with Technology & Operational project managers on shared projects.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills:

Knowledge of Project Management tools; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; planning and organizing; decision making; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to escalate issues; ability to delegate; team oriented; adaptability to changing environments.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years proven experience in leading projects, people management; strategic planning; change management and project management software. Banking experience preferred.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
