ABM Industries Aviation Fleet Manager in DFW Airport, Texas

Overview

The Aviation Fleet Manager will oversee the efficient management of the company's aviation fleet, compliant with safety standards, and available for use as needed. The manager will coordinate maintenance schedules, supervise fleet personnel, and ensure operational efficiency while minimizing costs.

Pay: $45,000.00/yr

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Oversee and manage the company's aviation fleet, ensuring all aircraft are operational, compliant with safety regulations, and meet operational requirements.

  • Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all GSE, ensuring timely and efficient upkeep by company standards.

  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external vendors, including repair facilities, parts suppliers, and fuel providers, to ensure optimal cost efficiency and service quality.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all fleet operations adhere to FAA safety standards and other applicable regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the fleet maintenance budget, controlling costs while maintaining operational excellence. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.

  • Staff Supervision: Lead, supervise, and provide ongoing training to fleet management personnel, including mechanics, technicians, and other team members, to ensure high standards of operation and compliance.

  • Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistics for GSE availability, ensuring the fleet is ready for operations when required. Optimize fleet usage based on business demand and aircraft availability.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all fleet-related activities, including maintenance, inspections, repairs, and incidents. Provide regular reports to senior management on fleet performance, costs, and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in aviation fleet management or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of safety standards.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize operational costs.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with external vendors and internal teams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a large fleet of airport ground equipment.

  • Project management experience.

Work Environment: This position requires working in office settings and on-site at aircraft hangars or service facilities. Occasional travel may be required for vendor management, inspections, or fleet-related issues.
