STARK COUNTY Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Tech) in Dickinson, North Dakota
**Summary:
Performs a variety of custodial, buildings and grounds maintenance activities at Stark County facilities. Assists Buildings/Grounds Director in the operation and maintenance of computerized HVAC systems.

Operates and maintains a computerized HVAC system which includes mechanical equipment, boilers, heat registers and air conditioning systems; changes filters; cleans units.
Performs general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and interior painting and roof repairs. Refers to contractors for major repairs and projects.
Performs trash and recycling collection.
Shovels snow; snow removal; trims trees and shrubs; maintains grounds, sprinkler maintenance.
Works with contractor on weed control applications, and sprays miscellaneous weeds around buildings.
Operates motorized equipment; performs basic maintenance on equipment.
Tracks the use of janitorial supplies.
Assists with table and chair setup for various functions when necessary.
Performs general interior custodial activities
Assists Director with maintenance and coordinating cleaning of floors.
Assists Director with card access system.
Performs related work as required or requested.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and three years of experience in building and grounds maintenance/repair.
Possession of a valid state of North Dakota Driver's License or equivalent
Certified applicator license or willing to obtain.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of custodial equipment, materials, methods, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of building maintenance equipment, materials, tools, methods, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of boiler and air conditioning systems maintenance and repair.
Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical and roofing practices, methods and procedures.
Knowledge of equipment safety practices.
Ability to maintain various written records.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate various custodial and maintenance tools and equipment.
Ability to operate a computer and various software applications.
