What You'll Do:

  • Assist in the development of a Center of Excellence (COE) deployment roadmap aligned to strategic goals.

  • Own the execution and rollout of the COE and standardization deployment plan.

  • Drive standardization, transformation and turnaround improvement kaizens/tiger teams/actions plans to quickly improve critical areas of SQDC across the SSB and T&N network.

  • Quickly assess problems and assemble the team to eliminate the issue(s) and drive a sustained/improved process.

  • Manage, and facilitate the Business Excellence initiative and Continuous Improvement strategy across the enterprise.

  • Coach plant and supplier partner leadership through the lean implementation strategy focused on delivering business results and building competency in lean methods.

  • Provide training to all levels of the organization on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools (e.g. 5S, visual controls, COE, standardized work, VSM & A3, Heijunka, Jidoka, Kaizen, SMED, etc...)

  • Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Participate in regular reviews of the Organization's lean performance with leadership teams across the organization, providing expectations, performance planning, feedback, training, development, and performance discussions with leadership teams across the organization.

  • Assist in developing lean support teams from within the division and plants to ensure that the Organization is fully prepared to deploy the COE/lean strategy.

  • Build a team of central experts to support the standardization and delivery of the Business Excellence program into the Organization.

  • Hire external talent and augment with internal leaders to develop critical mass of skills to drive the efforts and ensure that skill and culture transfer gets embedded into the broader operating leadership team.

  • Act as an overall change agent and Continuous Improvement Champion across the enterprise.

What You'll Do Cont'd:

  • Demonstrate ability to operate at all levels within the company, working with functional leaders throughout the company, and implementing effectively on the shop floor.

  • Must be able to demonstrate hands-on ability to lead and execute kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.

  • Drive improvement through the performance management system, KRAs, and operating metrics to ensure that impact is realized and also reinforce the notion of continuous improvement.

  • Ensure that improvement activity is translated to definitive impact and tie high-impact activity to financial/customer value.

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.

  • Ability to influence and drive fact-based decision making with Executive Management

  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.

  • Strong change management and organizational development skills.

  • Proven track record in financial analysis.

  • Computer skills in MS Office, Visio, CAD required.

What You'll Bring:

  • Requires 12 years of related experience and/or training.

  • Bachelors' degree required with focus on engineering, business, operations management, or technical field preferred.

  • Proven experience in implementing change within a manufacturing environment.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Job Factors/Work Environments

  • 75% + travel required.

  • Requires the ability to remain in motion for up to 8 hours every day.

  • Ability to understand and abide by Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Walks manufacturing sites that are actively in-production.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
