Education/Training

  1. High school graduate or equivalent
  2. Training in electricity, and general maintenance.
  3. Experience may substitute for educational requirements in this area

Work Experience

  1. Experience and/or training in general repair of equipment used in laundry of facility general repair
  2. Must have strong mechanical/electrical experience

Knowledge Required

  1. Knowledge of general maintenance
  2. Knowledge of preventive maintenance
  3. Knowledge of tools and their safe use
  4. Knowledge of planning and scheduling work to be done
  5. Knowledge required to perform regular maintenance checks

Skills/Temperaments/Aptitudes

  1. Ability to repair and use electrical equipment
  2. Ability to determine maintenance problems and repair as economically as possible
  3. Ability to work on both the electrical and mechanical components ofmachines and equipment requiring knowledge of Pneumatic, PLC, Hydraulic, and mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment .
  4. Ability to plan work and work in a timely manner
  5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a group
  6. Ability to deal with problems and people in a positive manner
  7. Ability to work cooperatively with consumers and others
  8. Ability to define, assign, and perform tasks as assigned

Other Requirements:

  1. Must be a licensed driver and approved by the Centers insurance carrier as a driver of Center vehicles
  2. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, and perform continuous work for extended periods of time.
  3. Must participate in staff development sessions as scheduled
  4. Must substitute in other departments as needed/assigned
  5. Must adhere to and follow the WRC Code of Ethical Conduct demonstrating understanding while performing essential functions of the job, fulfilling other requirements and using knowledge, skills and abilities in furthering the mission of WRC and in all interactions with consumers, staff and other employees and the public.
  6. Must be knowledgeable of emergency procedures, accident reporting and proper techniques for assisting individuals with disabilities.
  7. Individual will be required to wear employer-provided personal protective equipment due to exposure to typical hospital soils to include blood, urine, etc. when entering into or performing duties in the soiled/sort area.
