ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Legal clerk/assistant to Chief of Appeals unit of the Public Defender's Office.
- Legal Secretary for multiple attorneys.
- Takes and transcribes dictation of a legal nature accurately and efficiently.
- Prepares all types of legal documents and assists in preparing cases for court and hearings.
- Maintains and completes accurate files and records.
- Screens phone calls, answers questions and screens visitors.
- Types legal correspondence, orders of court, legal documents and other related typing as required, as well as legal briefs and sensitive materials.
- Organizes and schedules appointments and meetings and makes certain they are kept or rescheduled.
- Assists in the compilation of information, reports and programs.
Performs similar or related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Associate's Degree in related field preferred and/or experience working with a criminal law firm.
- Thorough knowledge of Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Court rules and regulations.
- Skill in typing accurately at reasonable rate of speed with experience in taking dictation.
- Must be able to work efficiently without direction with other offices and the public.
