About the role The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures to ensure reliable and secure connectivity across the organization. The Senior Network Engineer will lead and mentor a team of network engineers, oversee large-scale projects, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to align network strategies with business objectives. Additionally, The Senior Network Engineer will ensure network performance and security by monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and staying updated with emerging technologies. Their role also involves strategic planning, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. What you'll do (Essential Responsibilities) * Network Design and Architecture - Develop, review, and optimize network designs and architectures. Plan for network capacity, scalability, and performance enhancements. Define and document technical specifications, system configurations, and design diagrams * Implementation and Deployment - Oversee the deployment and integration of new network solutions. Manage network configuration changes, software upgrades, and installations. Ensure that implementation plans minimize downtime and maximize system performance * Network Maintenance and Monitoring - Monitor network performance to detect potential problems early. Use network management tools to track bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss. Respond to alerts, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis for any disruptions. * Security and Compliance - Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Patch Management. * Optimization and Troubleshooting - Identify areas of inefficiency and optimize network components (e.g., routers, switches). - Analyze network traffic patterns to troubleshoot and resolve bottlenecks. * Project Coordination - Lead project teams in network-related initiatives (e.g., upgrades, migrations). Communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders * Mentoring and Training - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers. Organize and lead training sessions on network technologies and best practices. * Network Documentation - Create and update comprehensive network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation for production issues. * All other duties as assigned. What you'll bring (Qualifications) * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems preferred (or equivalent experience) * 6+ years implementing and managing switching, routing, wireless and firewall devices in a multi-site environment * 4+ years installing and maintaining shared storage networks (iSCSI) * 6+ years managing network monitoring and alerting * 6+ years WAN implementation, configurat
