Robert Half Software Engineer in Dublin, Ohio

Description We are recruiting for a Software Engineer role, stationed in Dublin, Ohio, United States. This role is focused on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications, systems, and IT products in line with our business objectives. The position falls under a long-term contract employment opportunity, in a dynamic and collaborative workplace environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement software applications and IT products to meet business objectives.

• Collaborate with teams to improve our delivery and create robust, scalable applications.

• Utilize knowledge of software languages and application programming interfaces in daily tasks.

• Plan and execute system implementations, ensuring minimal risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.

• Utilize software development techniques, life cycle, modeling of business processes, and application design patterns.

• Maintain understanding of operation systems, databases, application servers, and integration technologies.

• Analyze production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis, and outage root cause analysis.

• Drive continuous improvement in system stability and performance.

• Address and resolve system issues effectively and timely.

• Utilize knowledge of various technologies including Java, Python, Cloud Technologies, and others in daily operations.

• Maintain a passion for creating robust, scalable applications and working on high-performing teams. Requirements • Proficiency in Python, Java, and other relevant programming languages

• Degree in Computer Sciences or a related field

• Solid understanding of database structures and data modeling techniques

• Experience with cloud technologies and operating systems

• Familiarity with software development and software engineering principles

• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments

• Knowledge of business process functions and business requirement documentation

• Understanding of computer hardware and its interaction with software

• Proven ability to plan, execute, and improve operations and procedures

• Experience with monitoring tools for system health checks

• Ability to drive continuous improvement and meet business objectives

• Knowledge of scalability and how it impacts system performance
