The Facilities Construction and Engineering Team at Northrop Grumman - Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is looking for you to join our team as a Project Manager of Construction based out of our Dulles , VA location.

You will manage construction projects to include reviewing/assigning incoming department requests, cost estimate and schedule reviews, contractor workforce management, and coordination with other departments.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, and oversees the construction of new or expanded facilities.

  • Prepares architectural and engineering cost estimates and schedules.

  • Obtains and supervises outside contractors.

  • Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities.

  • Maintains and reviews MEP standards for design of facilities

  • Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.

  • Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition,.

  • Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, value engineering consulting, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects.

  • Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, schedules, and local ordinances.

  • Reviews estimates for construction costs including equipment, installation, design, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.

  • Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

  • Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently

  • Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints

  • Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or Project Management field with 8 years of experience, or a Master of Science with 6 years of experience or; a PhD with 4 years of experience

  • Prior facilities-related or construction experience

  • Experience to include Cost estimating, design, and construction management, specifically industrial infrastructure projects

  • Must have US Citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret level clearance

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time, for support of satellite locations and emergency responses across various locations within TSSD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD & LEED AP certification

  • Cleanroom or Lab experience

  • Experience working with systems such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in an aerospace environment.

  • Experience with Emergency Response

  • Experience with agile methods of project management or development.

  • Facilities experience in the Defense sector along with understanding of security standard ICD 705

Salary Range: $124,900 - $187,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
