Senior Staff Validation/ Application Engineer

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Validation and Application engineer to work with the Renesas Memory Interface Validation and Apps team on state-of-the-art products such as RCD and data buffers. This is a position with high visibility and high growth potential.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support product development life cycle from conception to production release. This involves interfacing with multiple functional teams including Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality Assurance, and other engineering groups.

  • Develop and execute Production and Characterization test plans and specifications.

  • Design and debug hardware and software for lab validation and qualification purposes.

  • Perform bench testing to measure various device parameters in the lab for design verification, characterization, and correlation.

  • Analyze measurement results and correlate the measurements between ATE and bench.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

  • 8+ years of direct experience in post-Silicon validation, debug, and applications.

  • Strong knowledge of DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 and/or SERDES protocols, testing and application.

  • Deep knowledge in Silicon electrical characterization, particularly in high-speed signal measurement, analysis, and debug.

  • Skilled in the use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, pattern generators, ATE, Logic Analyzers.

  • Skilled in test automation development using Python.

  • Familiarity with DIMM RCD, Data Buffer and I2C and I3C devices is a plus.

  • Project management skills desired.

  • Familiar with computer system architecture, especially for Intel x86 server system.

  • Strong experience in Ansi-C programming, previous experience with Bios programming is preferred.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related, with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related, with 12+ years of relevant experience.
