Cirrus Aircraft Sustaining Stress Engineer I in Duluth, Minnesota

Job Summary

Entry level Structures Stress Analysis Engineer for developing and certifying new aircraft and related product designs at Cirrus Aircraft. 

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Generates structural analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structures that includes detail part sizing, and strength assessment of primary and secondary structure and systems installations.   

  • Assists in generating stress analysis and test documentation generation.  Includes test reports, design reports, test plans and test reports.    

  • Complete project assignments and assist in design outcomes. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering 

  • Strong working knowledge of physics 

  • Basic knowledge of Statics and Mechanics of Materials used for structural design. 

  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis 

  • Basic knowledge of composite structure and fabrication methods 

  • Basic understanding of methods for problem solving and analysis 

  • Ability to demonstrate basic communication skills (written and verbal).  Must be able to demonstrate ability to read, write and speak the English language.
