Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Senior Director of Operational Training directs the design and planning of brand-wide training programs aligned with the goals, strategy, and brand standards of the company. Implement Commerce-wide operational training solutions and establish world-class methodologies that can make us the employer of choice. This will be achieved by leading a team of training professionals that apply research and industry best practices to assess, design and facilitate skills-based training for all levels of associate. You will report to the Executive Officer of Gaming & Hospitality.
Primary Tasks:
You will partner with operations teams (F&B, Retail, Casino & Hospitality) to develop custom programs to help guide the implementation of Commerce-wide training solutions specifically regarding tactical skills applications for team members and leadership alike.
Develop practical organizational structures for developing operational training curriculum (e.g. in person, on-the- job, virtual…) that prepares associates for success.
You will develop long-term plans and strategies for associate development aligned with established functional strategies, and work with departments to operationalize and build strategy.
Translate priorities into operational reality; align internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic training priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.
You will perform needs analysis to ensure that training resources exist and are developed to support learning needs based on operational competencies, organizational changes, and other internal/external factors.
Collaborate with Learning and Development to establish a comprehensive training system that provides an and efficient training experience.
You will partner with the internal and external guest experience departments to uncover training needs through voice of customer and voice of associate surveys.
Use the continuous improvement team to enhance processes that enhance the performance of Commerce operations teams.
You will guide the department using multiple methods including the following: operational walks, in-depth operational execution auditing system, learning management system, assistance in the establishment and achievement of departmental Measurements.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business or related or equivalent combination of education and experience
Build complex projects.
Ability to work with employees at all levels.
Ability to mentor.
Demonstrated experience building training programs and developing staff to support successful execution.
Experience leading broad change management projects with an ability to see the “big picture”.
Eleven (11) years of relevant training and development experience in a leadership role
