Job Summary

Directly responsible for achieving assigned annual sales goals by leading and managing team of field representatives in promoting products to customers throughout defined territory. Develops relationships with key decision makers at assigned accounts and provides feedback on market trends and competitive information. Identifies customer needs, develops account plans and establishes business objectives. Provides input into the development of new products based on customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed assigned yearly sales goal targets.

  • Maintain effective relationships with regional managers and other internal personnel.

  • Lead team in developing strategies to achieve sales goals within region and ensure that team members are properly trained in product knowledge and selling skills.

  • Develop strong relationships with targeted clients and prospects through frequent contact and regular visits.

  • Work closely with Regional Manager/District Managers to ensure consistent implementation of corporate policy and procedures.

  • Ensure that all employees comply with Company policies, standards, practices and procedures as well as federal, state and local laws and regulations.

  • Communicate with management regarding issues affecting area performance.

  • Conduct training sessions for new staff members.

  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of expenditures related to travel, entertainment, meals, etc.

  • Submit required reports and documentation on time.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) required.

  • Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Strong leadership abilities and people skills.

  • Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities and handle stressful situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven record of accomplishments and achievements.

  • Thorough knowledge of the health care environment, including governmental regulations.

  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology and medical concepts.

  • Must be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
