What You Will Do :

We are currently searching for a Computer Systems Analyst to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Durham, NC.

• Support and maintain scientific computer systems including hardware, operating systems, and associated services in a high-performance computing environment.

• Provide software recommendations and solutions across diverse scientific applications, including freeware relevant to analyses of scientific discovery.

• Maintain computational infrastructure, including upgrading and configuration of hardware and software systems.

• Manage data storage and backup for scientific computers using available resources .

• Provide computing support including troubleshooting, answering technical inquiries from users, and procuring new systems.

• Manage data formats and prepare data and analysis for presentations or publications.

• Create and maintain system documentation.

What You Will Need :

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 5 years of experience in Computer Science

• Extensive familiarity with scientific databases

• Experience with Java, Python or JavaScript

What Would Be Nice To Have :

• Nice to have experience working with scientific hardware in a scientific environment.
