The Controls Design Engineer II provides electrical and controls design on product improvements for electrical and controls infrastructure of our manufactured product lines. This role coordinates site-wide drawings as applicable per site or project. These design activities ensure that our equipment, sites, and projects are built and applied per engineering documents, manufacturing, and other required standards such as UL and NEC. The main goals are to ensure the safety, quality, functionality, and conformity of our products. This position involves independent and collaborative work and contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and controls systems for product improvements.

• Coordinate site-wide drawings per site or project.

• Ensure equipment, sites, and projects meet engineering documents, manufacturing, and other required standards such as UL and NEC.

• Contribute to safety, quality, functionality, and conformity of products.

• Inspect products in progress in manufacturing.

• Collaborate with other teams and communicate effectively.

Essential Skills

• Electrical engineering degree required.

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, single lines, product manuals, control drawings, work instructions, written directions, and markups to electrical/control drawings.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software.

• Knowledgeable of UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.

• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

• Detail-oriented with a positive can-do attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Desire for continuous improvement.

Work Environment

Hybrid work environment with 3 days onsite and 2 days from home. This role requires interface with production as builds are in progress to ensure projects are on time and with quality. The rest of the time will be spent in an office setting behind a CAD screen.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.50
