Overview

Purpose and Essential Duties

The Lead Plumbing Technician will provide local market sales support, technical service delivery, technician development and training. The Lead Technician is considered the local market Subject Matter Expert for plumbing, piping, or mechanical service disciplines. The Lead Technician contributes to local market profitability by assisting the Service Coordinator in the following: coordinating and developing the team on how to profitably execute work, communicate effectively with sub-contractors and customers, understand how their actions impact job profitability and cash flow, and maintain customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support sales in estimating.

  • Support Service Coordinator in scheduling and coordinating work.

  • Support technicians in complex technical issues.

  • Establish and maintain clear communications with customers while both on and off the customer job sites.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory and tool procurement for all technicians.

  • Promote and perform all aspects of BMCC's safety procedures and policies.

  • Service, repair, and install all plumbing systems and piping supports per code.

  • Install and test Backflow Preventers.

  • Install and test Medical Gas.

  • Complete plumbing services in confined space environment.

  • Comply with federal, state, local building and plumbing codes by adherence to requirements.

  • Keep plumbing equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.

  • Be able to test all plumbing systems per job specifications.

  • Lift heavy materials at heights, working on uneven ground, working in the adverse weather.

  • Promote and perform all aspects of Bernhard’s safety procedures and policies.

This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Skills of level 3 Plumbing Technician in addition to those listed below.

  • OSAH 30 hour – preferred

  • Plumbing License

  • Medical gas license.

  • Backflow prevention license.

  • Ability to use special tools and equipment.

  • Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions.

  • Lift heavy materials and not be afraid of heights.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent multitasking skills.

  • Willingness to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.

  • Punctual and diligent in work ethic.

Travel Requirements

  • 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.

  • Climbing stairs.

  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Operating motor vehicles.

  • Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.

  • Noisy environment.

  • Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $50,000.00 - USD $66,800.00 /Yr.
