Job Description:

GDIT has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Technician III joining our team to support the user base and activities at our Durham, North Carolina Office. This position will be based in office 5 days per week.

Systems Technician III will help to ensure the continuous viability of computing assets so that employees may complete their tasking whether desk or shipboard to aid the customer to be better prepared for any necessary mission within government agencies or with military personnel.

HOW A SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.

● You will be working with a varied team with different backgrounds and experiences from which you can learn and educate each other to have a full understanding of solutions to problems and systems.

● The team will need to be able to communicate with different personalities within a group setting or as an individual needing little supervision.

● The dynamics of the team will be inclusive and work together or with other groups. GDIT is large diverse company but the team’s function well by themselves or as an overall team to help keep GDIT on the forefront of government contracting.

● The selected candidate will work on site 5 days a week & will have the responsibilities of assisting those in the office as well as those on travel or working from home. We feel having a personal touch in face-to-face communications helps with building a more unified team for those in the office. This also allows for faster turnaround in solving issues that may arise during the daily routine.

● The selected candidate will need to be able to help with account issues, group maintenance, using ticketing systems as well as tools like Active Directory Administration, ServiceNow and SCCM. At times you will be working with other groups like the WAN team for juniper switches, ENC teams for Aruba and Silver Peak. Occasionally, you will be asked to assist vendors with connections within the GDIT network.

● Support other duties as necessary

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Associates Degree is not required; however, in lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant experience will be required

● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience with an AA Degree

● Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office proficiency. Lan/Wan understanding including switch and server is experience.

● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

● Required Skills and Abilities: Must be able to work and communicate well. Must be self-motivated able to work with little supervision and must have problem solving abilities and the ability to think on your feet.

● Preferred Skills: Ticketing systems such a ServiceNow. SCCM, Tenable or QUALYS Security, Virtual Systems experience. Active Kill Disk.

● Location: This is a full-time position on site in the Durham North Carolina office and you must be in the office 5 days a week.

● Be able to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a monthly basis
