Omni Hotels Steward Supervisor in Eagan, Minnesota

Location

A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, this destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. Job Description

This team member will supervise the day-to-day operation of the stewarding department for a given shift, ensuring control and distribution of operating equipment, maintenance of cleaning and sanitation standards, supervision of all utility, pot washer, dishwasher, and worker assignment tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates

  • Resolves associate issues

  • Be able to read banquet menus and perform set up procedures

  • Responsible for all personnel under his/her supervisor

  • Responsible for the proper cleaning, rack and distribution of all china, silver and glassware.

  • Maintains required standards of sanitation and cleanliness.

  • Reviews and reinforces operating procedures with his/her shift.

  • Minimize breakage of circulating equipment.

  • Follow/enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

  • Following safety guidelines and proper usage of all cleaning chemicals before, during and after usage which includes proper storage of all chemicals when not in use.

  • Report at all times when kitchen equipment not in working order to a supervisor/manager assigned.

  • Assist kitchen staff when needed.

  • Complete cleanliness of all food and beverage areas at all times.

  • Assist Stewarding Supervisor in organizing and maintaining all inventories of china, glass & silver.

  • Attend department meetings and other company required trainings.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1 year minimum work related experience is required.

  • Ability to communicate written and orally in English on an intermediate level.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead by example.

  • Experience training and developing employees with limited education/experience.

  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.

  • Excellent safety and sanitation skills.

  • Create courteous, friendly, professional work environment.

  • Must be able to work various shifts, holidays and weekends.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to the high activity level.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk,

  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, bend and lift items of moderate to heavy weight.

  • Good eye/hand coordination needed to use all stewarding equipment.

  • Sufficient manual dexterity needed in hands to operate machinery and equipment as needed.

    Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel, in all Food and Beverage areas, with exposure to humidity and extreme temperatures.

  • Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.

    Tools & Equipment:

  • Utility cart, glass racks dollies, gloves, aprons, glass racks, flatware racks, bus tub, mop bucket, mop, broom, dust pan, inventory scale.

  • Ware washer machine and chemicals.

  • China, flatware and glassware
