Seasonal/Temporary work from 1/15/2025 - 11/15/2025

Duties will include operating farm equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, all-terrain vehicles, and sprayers to prepare and maintain land, fertilize, cultivate, plant, harvest, load, and transport crops; also conduct inspections, repairs and maintenance on farm equipment when required. Use hand tools, such as but not limited to shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, and shears. Preform duties associated with bee keeping such as work with bees in all stages, drones, and queens; assess colonies to determine if food or medicine is needed; maintain, split, and increase number of hives, raise, replace queens, make divides, build, maintain, and clean boxes. Raise bees to produce honey and maintain colony health. Find, cage, and rear queens; install queen cells; clean and scrape beehives to remove wax buildup and debris. Operate and sterilize honey extracting equipment, extract honey from honeycombs. Identify and detect common brood diseases. Winterize beekeeping facilities, equipment and prepare beehives for shipment. Participate in irrigation activities such as maintaining, repairing, and operating irrigation equipment. Perform sanitation duties that will include removing trash or debris from work areas, farm buildings, and fields assist in upkeep of sanitation standards required by OSHA such as change potable water quality when necessary; keep hand-washing facilities neat and orderly, clean toilet area of any personal contaminates, and proper disposal of trash or garbage from the facilities. Mow grass around fields and around farm shop locations; dig ditches or channels for drainage or seedlings. Perform minor repairs to farm buildings, or other structures as well as using hand tools to perform maintenance or repairs to fencing (barrier, railing, or other upright structure) around farm. Inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and engage in various general functions.
