ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES MANAGEMENT

RATE OF PAY: $22.00 - $25.00/hr., depending on experience and qualifications)

SHIFT: Full-Time, Tuesday- Saturday or Sunday- Thursday from 8-4p

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Environmental Services Director directs the maintenance staff. He assists with duties in maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment for the residents and staff in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules, supervises, and maintains logs on the maintenance operation, testing and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems in accordance with prevailing policies and regulations

  • Supervises TMG maintenance personnel in the facility as assigned by Director of ESM

  • Corrects any fire hazards or needed repairs in the facility

  • Conducts and reports on all fire and disaster drills

  • Identifies, reports to Director and schedules repair of any equipment malfunctions, or areas in poor repair

  • Supervises waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy

  • Assists in maintaining and updates MSDS sheet books

  • Ordering supplies and equipment as needed

  • Other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid NYS Driver's License

  • expertise and experience required for the task

  • Demonstrated ability in management, leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards as they relate to maintenance (i.e., personal protective equipment, lock out/ tag out

  • Possesses a working knowledge of the Life Safety Code and all other regulations and laws pertaining to the physical environment

  • Knowledge of facility emergency procedures
