Senior IT Business Application Developer (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.

Our Team

Business Application Systems Developers are responsible for participating in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications. Inhabitants of this position are assigned to project teams within an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilize a variety of client/server (or mainframe) platforms. Four progression levels exist for this position. Roles and responsibilities, business / technical skills and knowledge, competencies and experience are the factors used to determine a person’s placement in the progression.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes business / technical and related issues to formulate and develop or purchase new and/or modified computer programs and systems.
  • Revises existing programs, systems, and procedures and use appropriate tools to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion and storage.
  • Reconciles user requirements with existing and/or projected computer capacity, capabilities and performance.
  • Coordinates symbolic statements (process and data models) of problems into appropriate specifications for coding computer systems, identifying functions to be programmed, information processing techniques used, and data representation.
  • Develops and may enter program code into computer system.
  • Prepares documentation and may conduct program tests and correct program errors. Analyze programming system’s capabilities to resolve questions of program standards, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques and controls.
  • Advises on new technologies, and estimate costs associated with data processing programs.
  • Develops procedures and operating instructions.
  • Uses project management techniques to ensure on-time product delivery and to meet client goals.
  • Anticipates organizational impacts of new or changing applications and factor this into project plans.
  • Develops new technologies.
  • Integrates diverse systems that execute on diverse platforms.
  • Seamlessly integrates new technologies into in use existing technologies.

  • Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

Software Requirements Engineering, Design and Implementation & Maintenance- Mastery of Software Requirements Engineering, Software Design and Software Implementation and Maintenance.

Programming Languages- Mastery of relevant programming languages.

Databases, Systems Platforms

and Development Tools- Mastery of relevant databases, systems platforms, and development tools.

Project Management- Working knowledge and expertise of General Project Management. (Refer to the Evaluation Guide for General Project Management for further details).

Products and Processes Expert in assigned business area’s products and processes and their relationship to the overall business.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Experience :

  • Minimum of five to eight years of related experience.

  • Relevant programming languages does not refer to languages such as Excel Macros, Word Macros, etc.

  • Examples of relevant databases are Adabase, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, IDMS, Arbor, etc.
  • Examples of relevant systems platforms are MVS, Unix, Windows, CICS, VM, etc.
  • Examples of relevant development tools are Natural Editor, Predict, Pac, ISPF VB, Endever, Verify, BPWin, ERWIN, etc

  • N/A

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $111,560.00 to $123,960.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
