Description Robert Half is looking for a candidate with a distinct set of skills for a Database Administrator position. The ideal candidate should enjoy the challenge of solving complex, multi-layered problems. The opening for a long-term contract / contract Database Administrator is available in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Your responsibilities

• Maintain all database instances across development, staging, and production environments, handling installations and configurations as needed

• Ensure database server topology, configuration, and maintenance are designed and executed to meet SLA objectives

• Restore service to databases as outages happen, including after hours and on weekends

• Suggest solutions for database design, tuning options, and other potential issues

• Configure monitoring utilities for databases to keep false alarms to a minimum

• Establish the baseline for system performance, recognize deviation, and suggest and implement improvements to slow running queries

• Improve performance with the most effective solution, such as hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes Requirements - Storage and server hardware knowledge a plus

• Experience tuning queries to improve performance

• Practical knowledge of Cloud migration

• Proven knowledge of C Sharp Programming (C#)

• Quality experience with Cloud Technologies

• General familiarity with Cloud implementations

• Good understanding of API Development

• C# experience

• Well-founded grasp of Cloud integrations

• Foundational knowledge in SQL optimization

• SQL experience preferred

• Previous experience working with API's

• Skills in API Testing

• Wide ranging experience with Application Support

• SQL Database experience

• SQL experience

• Earlier work involving API's

• Understanding of production environments and being on-call

• 5+ years of database experience

• Experience developing and maintaining documentation
