Location: This position is located at our Water Products facility in East Jordan, Michigan.
SUMMARY
Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for design, planning, organization, control, and integration for the completion of facility and engineering related projects within the areas of production, safety, and machining. Responsible for the proceeding duties personally or through liaison with other engineers, designers, production personnel, safety, suppliers, or others as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Formulates engineering solutions to ergonomic or general safety related topics that arise in assembly and machining.
Reviews shop flow and layout in both the short term and long term to maximize space, reduce wasted travel, and to plan for future growth in assembly and machining.
Consults with and receives proposals and quotes from contractors and suppliers.
Prepares drawings, cost estimates, time schedules, written descriptions, and instructions for projects.
Records and reviews production standards to help plan capacity for the shop as well as to identify improvements in production.
Initiates purchases of necessary equipment, parts, or materials and then arranges for team members to execute the project plans.
Manages or coordinates equipment and facility related CAPEX projects, depending on complexity, along with Engineering and the Facility Manager.
Coordinates activities of contractors, maintenance, and production personnel to efficiently complete projects. Also, provides effective communication to all management and leaders.
Monitors progress and adherence to plans and specifications to assure proper installation and start-up.
Prepares project status reports and maintains communications between all parties involved to avoid conflicts and promote progress to completion.
Provides technical assistance Production and Maintenance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree (A.S.) from a Technical School or university; and at least seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
