Holtec International Machine Shop Production Supervisor in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for supporting, advocating and maintaining corporate standards for safety, quality and productivity.

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as machinist, operators, laborers, etc.

  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

  • Observe work and monitor operations to ensure that employees conform to production or processing standards.

  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures.

  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.

  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

  • General Manager, Operations & Shop Managers, Product Line Managers, Safety Manager

    Requirements

  • Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School degree is required upon entry, a 2-year Technical degree or previous apprenticeship schooling is preferred.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in machining and working with ASME codes required.

  • Knowledge of welding required; knowledge of machining processes required.

  • Organizational and time-management skills to achieve established goals.

  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with others, encourage teamwork and cooperation.

  • Leadership skills to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to complete tasks and assignments.

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) preferred.

  • Ability to read drawings, layouts, and blueprints required.

  • Ability to work in a union environment

  • Ability to work all shifts
