Job Summary

Job Description

Responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities & Duties
* Prepare needed tools and materials and set up equipment. Use hand and power tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
* Follow project instructions from manager or supervisor. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
* Provide assistance to contractors and other laborers as needed.
* Keep work area safe and direct workflow following all safety guidelines. Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment. Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn. Safely operate a variety of tools.
* Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials and ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly at the end of each day.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* 2 years of relevant experience.
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Courses in general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics, and mathematics are helpful; vocational school or apprenticeships in a related field a plus.
* General laborers must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Laborers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
* Some tools and machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use; computer skills, estimating skills a plus.
* Good interpersonal skills/communication skills with all levels of management and an ability to work both independently and as an active member of a team a must.

Salary: $15 - $18 hour DOE
