Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder and fabricator to join our team. You will be responsible for fabricating, laying out, assembling, and welding according to shop drawings and specifications. The role requires experience with MIG welding, as well as the ability to weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. You should be knowledgeable about various tools and equipment, including ironworkers, saws, plasma tables, and hand tools. The position involves working at heights, on a scissor lift, and in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, layout, assemble, and weld according to shop drawings and specifications.

  • Perform miscellaneous metals layout, fitting, and welding.

  • Utilize MIG welding techniques.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Operate tools and equipment such as ironworkers, saws, plasma tables, and hand tools.

  • Work at heights, on a scissor lift, and in tight spaces.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of MIG welding (preferably Pulse MIG) on structural steel or miscellaneous metals.

  • Experience with thin gauge metal fabrication and welding.

  • Strong blueprint skills, including the ability to take a print and fabricate, layout, fit, and weld with little to no guidance.

  • Proficiency in stick welding in flat and vertical positions.

  • TIG welding experience preferred.

  • Direct experience with miscellaneous metals highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be willing to go on job sites for project installations, primarily same-day travel.

  • Flexibility to work at heights, on a scissor lift, and in tight spaces.

Work Environment

Our work environment is a small shop with about a dozen employees. It is a typical welding and fabrication shop that can be loud and dirty due to grinding and welded metal. Safety is a priority, with guards on machines and all necessary welding gear required. You will be asked to help with installations once projects are welded and fabricated. While travel is typically limited to a few weeks per year, you will need to meet at the shop early enough to arrive on-site by 6 am, usually within a two-hour commute. Travel time is paid at a straight-time wage and does not count towards overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00
