Reference #: 4533025 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation is currently on the lookout for a qualified individual to take on the role of Highway Equipment Manager 2. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the highway equipment program for either a County Maintenance Organization or the main county of a consolidated Maintenance Organization. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of this role, your main responsibility will be to assess and identify the necessary repairs that need to be done on equipment. You will then be responsible for guiding and supervising the workforce in executing these repairs efficiently. Additionally, you will be evaluating the skill levels of the subordinate staff and providing recommendations on training programs that will enhance their overall performance. This will involve identifying areas for improvement and suggesting opportunities for growth and development within the team.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Overtime shift-work and travel may be required for emergencies and training. Dual shifts are required during Winter season. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Highway Equipment Manager 1; or Three years of experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines and other components of heavy highway maintenance and construction vehicles and equipment including two years of such experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Conditions of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid Class A or Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the air brake restriction removed and  tank (N) and HAZMAT (H) or Tank/HAZMAT (X) endorsements.

This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 and 3 or Class 7 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification. This position requires one year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.
