Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to service inverter fleet in North America. In this role, you will be accountable for providing on-site service, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery. Your primary goal will be to ensure our customers' equipment operates efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and maximizing performance. Preference will be given to candidates based in Michigan, Iowa, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania .
Relocation will not be offered for this role.
Your Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Travel onsite to resolve technical issues and provide remote technical assistance to resolve incidents on Photovoltaic (PV) Inverters, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Power Conversions Systems (PCS) Equipment and auxiliary systems.
Troubleshoot errors on PV Inverters, BESS and PCS Equipment and auxiliary systems.
Remote follow-up of the general operation of teams with the ability to prevent future errors
Provide onsite/classroom product training at all levels for all PV products provided by Siemens Gamesa and Gamesa Electric
Perform RCA analysis of repetitive incidents.
Assist/Oversee commissioning of Inverters
Address to customer tickets in JIRA
Required Knowledge/ Skills, Education, and Experience:
High School or GED
Attention to safety assist zero harm culture
Ability to operate forlkift and replace inverter components in the field
Must have a flexible travel schedule up to 50-60%.
Must be able and willing to travel throughout the United States and Internationally.
Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining PV Inverters, BESS, PCS, or similar equipment.
Minimum 1 years of utility scale solar inverter or wind convertor experience required
In depth knowledge of Communication Networks, Cooling Systems, Power Electronics, MV Equipment, and Electrical Switchgear.
Ability to read and recognize Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic Schematic Diagrams.
Experience using Microsoft 365 Office Package, Jira, and VPNs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Preference given to candidates fluent in English and Spanish
Must be Self-Motivated, Adaptable and Proactive with Strong Time Management, and Task Prioritization skills.
Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time while on solar farm sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and to occasionally lift items weighing between 60 and 100 pounds.
Ability to recognize and communicate safety precautions when necessary.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Inc., it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58000 - $73000.
