This role will perform duties for the corporate accounting team of Optum Health, the health care delivery system division of UnitedHealth Group.

If you are located within Eden Prairie, MN you will have the flexibility to Work from home and the office in this hybrid role* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports

  • Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close

  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation

  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position

  • Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Accounting experience or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge with analyzing and reviewing accounting journal entries and general ledgers

  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA track

  • Experience communicating in an effective manner

  • Experience collaborating with peers to complete projects

  • Experience delivering high quality results based on thorough analysis using drive and motivation

  • Sound business knowledge and solid decision-making skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
