Assistant Project Manager – Building Intelligence

What we’re looking for

Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors (MMC) is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our driven and dedicated team. With over 300,000 mechanical contracting projects completed and over 60 years of experience, we aim to hire the industry’s top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination : Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Documentation and Reporting : Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports. Ensure that all project documentation is up-to-date and accessible.

  • Quality Assurance : Monitor the quality of work performed by contractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and codes.

  • Communication : Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, contractors, and team members to address any issues or concerns promptly.

  • Risk Management : Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Vendor Coordination : Work with vendors to procure necessary materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.

  • Training and Support : Assist in the training of clients and building staff on the operation and maintenance of building automation systems

You also meet most (if not all) of the following requirements:

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience : 2-4 years of experience in project management, preferably within the building automation or construction industry.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), HVAC, and energy management systems.

  • Project Management Skills : Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Experience with project management software/tools is a plus.

  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
