UnitedHealth Group Associate Director Network Contracting - Remote in Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Apply experience to lead negotiations with partnering large/ medium Chain & Grocer pharmacies in the US

  • Assure optimal value and mitigation of risk to drive goals and achieve metrics on behalf of OptumRX and its clients

  • Facilitate contract strategy for value-based agreements, and innovative partnership strategies

  • Evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with client contracts, reimbursement structures, and other key process controls

  • Demonstrate understanding of complex contract language to assess financial, non-financial and operational impact and legal implications of requested contract changes

  • Analyze network and provider performance with respect to key indicators (e.g. compliance with regulatory audits; financial performance) to determine which programs to implement or modify

  • Monitor provider financial performance to identify opportunities to improve performance and the provider relationship

  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure ongoing execution of processes are in line with contractual obligations

  • Assist in data generation and collateral for senior leadership business updates, Providing explanations and information to others on the most complex issues

  • Utilize exceptional organizational skills in the management of OptumRx contracts including but not limited to ensuring accurate/timely data, generating reports, and tracking monthly performance & adherence metrics

  • Be on point as the SME for Provider contracting related queries for our provider relations help desk

Required Qualifications:

  • Value Based Contract Experience, with a focus on negotiation

  • Experience interacting with executive leadership 

  • Experience in financial modeling & development of product pricing

  • Experience in strategic and business development roles, ideally in related industry (Pharmacy Benefit Management, Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, etc.)

  • Proven solid communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment to deliver financial goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmaceutical and drug industry experience / background

  • Advanced experience utilizing PowerPoint and Excel

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
