job summary:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Monitor Outbound Delivery report, on a daily basis, to ensure that orders are processed and shipped according to schedule.  Prepare necessary paperwork and documents to the Shipping department in accordance to customer shipping logistics.  Complete shipping information to the customer via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange); ASN (Advance Shipping Notification); Fax, Email, or Mail.  Schedule and monitor customer specified freight carriers for pickup of orders. Monitor and schedule Fed Ex orders (requires 24-hour advance notification for pickup).  Process request for freight quotes on 'pre-paid and add' orders from customers.  Inform Customer Service of potential shipping problems or delays.  Communicate with carriers for updated ETA's and/or follow up.  Log, research and resolve freight and handling chargebacks.  Review routing guides regularly and have an understanding of International account requirements to support accuracy of shipments.  Compile and update shipping reports.  Prepare finished goods for shipment. This may include boxing up materials, loading boxes onto pallets, and shrink-wrapping pallets for shipment.  Learn Inventory Control Clerk duties as a back up  Perform other duties as assigned COMPETENCIES:  Good verbal communication skills  Ability to use RF units, electronic scanning  Ability to read and comprehend written directions  Ability to use basic math skills  Ability to learn multiple tasks/processes

work hours: 6:00AM to 2:30PM

qualifications:

• up to 50 lbs. (heavy lifting)

• Successful performance on a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Test.

• Build, wrap, sort pallets

• Load, unload materials & equipment

• Operate hand truck/dolly
