EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc. JOB TITLE: Healthcare Economics Consultant LOCATION: 11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.) DUTIES: Apply knowledge of health care and database management to analyze clinical data, and to identify and report trends. Duties include: Assist in complex analytic projects leveraging data from multiple sources and implementing appropriate analytic approaches and methodologies; Apply highly technical specifications to healthcare datasets; Serve as key healthcare economics and analytics contact for leadership hierarchies; Develop full understanding of CMS guidelines related to Medicare Advantage and Risk Adjustment; Architect operational reports with scalable framework supporting to expansive growth and evolving KPIs; Turn visualization prototypes and subject area data models into well engineered visualization solutions, and find key areas of automation to make the processes efficient; Design and develop KPI reports, resolve any data or performance issues related to Tableau dashboards, and document report development and quality assurance processes; Perform multiple tasks, prioritize efficiently, and navigate a dynamic environment; and Communicate results, integrate feedback, and refine analytics required qualifications. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S. REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master s degree in Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance, Health Administration, Mathematics or related field and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one year of experience in the job offered or a related healthcare occupation involving each of the following: Advanced analytics; Data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and reporting; SQL; statistical tool SPSS; Tableau; Programming languages Python and R; CMS regulations regarding Medicare Advantage risk adjustment; and Forecasting techniques and series analysis.
