In this position you will be an IT Manager leading a team of engineers and analysts on the Public Cloud platform enablement TechOps team. You will be responsible for the day2 operations and improvement of the quality, reliability, and cloud engineer experience of the public cloud platform enabling products and services. You will also be accountable for cloud hygiene, platform operations reporting, line of business support, and team leadership amongst a few.
The complexity of this role can be challenging. We work on cloud platform enablement where hundreds of public cloud accounts host hundreds of healthcare technology products and services. Everything you work on will have implications that impact others.
If you are located in Minneapolis, MN, you will have the flexibility to work remotely, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges. If you are located outside of Minneapolis, MN, you will enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a team of Software Engineers and Analysts supporting the enterprise public cloud platform across 3 cloud service providers (Azure, GCP, and AWS)
Take accountability for Key Public Cloud Platform Metrics spanning adoption, hygiene, enablement, and security
Vendor relations on ticket quality holding Cloud Service Provide accountable through reporting and regular connects
Implement and improve Public Cloud Platform observability including monitoring and alerting to detect major service events
Implement monitoring on the critical components of the public cloud platform enabling products and services. Ensure the proper team is reacting with the correct urgency to monitoring failures
High priority issue resolution including driving the resolution of postmortem action items
Identify and resolve resiliency and redundancy gaps with the critical public cloud platform enabling products and services
Create and provide executive reports for ongoing operations, projects, and issues with the proper level of detail and accuracy to demonstrate platform progress and process maturity
Become a subject matter expert on how our public cloud platform operates using that knowledge and understanding to provide sound direction to your team and leadership
Create and keep documentation up to date including but not limited to operational playbooks, cloud community docs, cloud platform FAQ docs, and public cloud operational best practices
Collaborate with counterparts in other Geographical locations to ensure alignment and smooth execution of critical support activities

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 4+ years of equivalent experience
4+ years of experience working in a DevOps model
2+ years of experience leading a team of software engineers
2+ years of experience with DevOps engineering tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, etc.
2+ years of experience in a fast paced, Agile, continuous integration environment
2+ years of experience in systems monitoring, alerting and analytics
2+ years of experience working in an off-shore/on-shore model
1+ years of experience in managing and using more than one public cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud)
1+ years of experience in log aggregation reporting tools, such as Elasticsearch and Splunk
Legally authorized to work in the US without any restrictions. Proof will be required
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in a cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience architecting, delivering, and operating large scale, highly available system
Experience in complex projects with division or company-wide scope
Healthcare industry experience
Familiarity with IT standards and best practices, audit, security and compliance (ex: ITIL, ITSM, SOC2, HIPAA, HITRUST CSF)
Proven solid communicator at all levels of the organization (ability to present to Director level and above)

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
