Fairview Health Services MRI Technologist – ADIT – Casual in Edina, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a MRI Technologist to join our Magnetic Resonance Imaging team at our M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital location in Edina , MN .

The MRI Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

Schedule : This position will be working 0.01 FTE - casual position. As a casual employee, we require a minimum of one shift per month to maintain competencies and stay updated on current practices. Also included is one Holiday per year.

About the MRI Technologist Department:

  • Southdale offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients.

  • We have outpatient access Monday-Saturday's.

  • The MRI department offers imaging care to in-patients, out-patients and emergent patients.

  • The technologist’s work collaboratively within the Imaging team and amongst varying levels of clinical practitioners.

  • The MRI technologist will serve a wide range of examinations from Neuro, Body, Musculoskeletal, Breast and Vascular.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

  • Performs individualized, compassionate patient care

  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately

  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

  • Applying established professional guidelines and standards for complex, routine, and non-routinediagnostic testing procedures.

  • Ensures patient data integrity

  • Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures

  • Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes

  • Accurately image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

  • Assesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing

  • Correctly operating equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly

  • Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility

Qualifications

Require d Qualifications :

  • Education

  • Technical Certificate and/or Associates Degree in Radiology

  • License/Certification/Registration

  • Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

  • Basic Life Support

  • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of current ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety.

  • Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience

  • 1 or more years of experience in a related role

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

  • License/Certification/Registration

  • Additional certifications in Imaging

  • ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
