UMPhysicians Service Line Manager (Cardiac Device Clinics) in Edina, Minnesota
The Service Line Manager is responsible for day to day oversight of a specific department or recognized program/clinic. The individual in this role holds accountability for budgeting, staffing and performance. Additional responsibilities include for process design/improvement, program development, overseeing accreditation and regulatory requirements, fiscal management, human resources management, and collaboration with the Medical Director and service line leadership to develop and implement strategies for the site and system. The candidate selected for this role will manage the system cardiac device clinics, including the Minneapolis, Edina, St. Paul, and outreach device clinics. Service Line Manager Overview Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Actively manages staff and daily clinic operations by directly observing staff and clinic processes, using those observations to train staff, drive accountability and recognize opportunities for improvement. Reviews and approves direct reports' work schedules, considering patient/family needs, staffing requirements, and policies and procedures. Assesses professional development needs of staff and develops annual in-service training programs to meet those needs. Leads and manages in a manner that promotes continuous quality improvement and M Physician values. Actively manages clinic operations and is available to staff, especially during critical times such as clinic start-up, incorporating a "Go and See" management style. Shadows patients, providers, and staff as a way to provide on-the-job coaching and training. Accountable for continuous improvement and achieving key performance metrics for quality, customer experience, engagement and efficiency. Responsible for the financial performance of the clinic, including revenue, expense management and provider productivity. Implements corrective actions to ensure financial success of the practice in obtainment of financial targets. Independently, in partnership with Human Resources, manages all human resource activities for employed team members; includes recruitment, on-boarding, staff assignments, recognition, and performance management. Partners with system resources to ensure staff are competent. Ensures employees are orientated to the organization, business unit, site and position. Manages a respectful and healthy work environment for a diverse work force. Acts as a subject matter expert for quality and regulatory standards. Has the ability to articulate the standards into daily practices, operations, and process improvement efforts as needed. Ensures the work environment is safe and compliant with regulatory standards. As the major interface between staff and system leadership, proactively identifies barriers to achievement and partners with all parties to develop improvement plans. Identifies barriers to achievement of clinical outcome measures and partners with Medical Directors to develop and implement effective improvement plans. Performs other duties including Performance Goals developed by manager and employee and reported in the employee's Performance Review as part of U Physicians' Performance Management tools Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business or a related field. Two+ years of experience in healthcare as a patient care supervisor, nurse manager, clinic supervisor or Health Care Administrator Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of experience supporting implanted cardiac device interrogations Location: 6405 France Ave. S, Suite 200, Edina Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week Benefits: This is a fully benefit eligible position: Competitive wages, Healthcare (including vision & dental), 401K, parking & tuition assistance and more!
