The Project Manager, Strategic & Regulatory Initiatives plays an integral role in planning, organizing and managing key strategy, regulatory and business development projects for the Strategy, Regulatory & Business Development team. This role is critical in the leading and progressing the development, preparation and management of strategic presentations for key stakeholders. The Project Manager, Strategic & Regulatory Initiatives will lead management tracking for Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) Annual Strategic Priorities and Initiatives for senior leadership. This position plays a critical role in managing and progressing regulatory and licensing activities across the network and monitors tracking of related projects. This position will work in close collaboration with regional and site senior leaders on network-wide surveys such as the annual AHA survey. The Project Manager, Strategic & Regulatory Initiatives will play a key role as the point person for preparation of the Leadership Summit, Strategic Planning Committee of the Board and senior leader meetings. This position will work collaboratively with colleagues within the department as well as with health network management and executive teams to support departmental and network initiatives as assigned.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Project Manager, Strategic & Regulatory Initiatives at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Manage identified projects and initiatives amongst the Strategy, Regulatory & Business Development team. Supports all phases of project management including identifying, assessing, communicating and managing risks and opportunities. Prepares presentations and reports on project status, performance and results.

  • Manage routine regulatory activities including preparation, completion and submission of licensing applications and related correspondence. Interface with senior HMH leaders and state regulatory contacts on regulatory issues. Monitor and track all network certificates of need and licensing projects.

  • Develop comprehensive market overviews, competitor profiles, capacity assessments and other strategy analyses through detailed research and collaborating with internal departments.

  • Track, summarize and report progress on annual board approved HMH the network strategic priorities and initiatives.

  • Develop, manage and maintain competitive intelligence profiles in order to support department leaders on department and network initiatives. Research and complete publicly available portions of such profiles.

  • Manage and coordinate the completion of information requests and selected surveys always ensuring the integrity of information gathered/ reported.

  • Manage session planning for Executive Strategy Council (ESC) and Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) meetings in close collaboration with SVP Strategy and Business Development and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO).

  • Manage and monitor key process tracking activities for Business Development prospecting activity and major strategy team project tracking.

  • Prepare, monitor and inventory relevant competitive environment and industry research topics as assigned.Manage, monitor and update routine initiative reporting in collaboration with the Strategy team as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in strategic planning, business development, administration and operations management.

  • Demonstrates the ability to investigate and apply innovative technology developments in the field of data modeling.

  • Experience in business planning, data analysis and modeling.

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.

  • Utilizes effective project planning techniques to break down moderately complex projects into tasks and ensure deadlines are met.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related field.

  • Knowledge or experience in health care strategy and regulatory management.

  • Experience with performing complex analyses for strategic market research.

  • Experience and ability to learn multiple parallel processing/programming and applications, such as Google tool suite.
