Starting Salary:\$25.37\$26.54(depending on experience)

About this Position

The Electrical Inspector is responsible for securing compliance with City of Edmond building ordinances and adopted codes, and performing inspections on all new electrical installations in the City of Edmond. This position requires extensive knowledge of the NEC.

This position will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30.

Responsibilities

  • Complete construction inspections for every project (this includes all trades)
  • Review and update all database records for inspections
  • Contact tradespeople concerning questions about inspection results
  • Research codes concerning deficiencies found during inspections
  • Participate in the code update process
  • Participate in a cross-training program with other inspectors in the department
  • Meet with officials of other municipalities to provide consistency in code interpretation
  • Document the licensing of workers on job sites to ensure everyone is licensed by the state
  • Obtain a Provisional Inspector License from the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board
  • Adhere to the Certification Program as outlined in the policy documents and complete the minimum 3 certifications within 2 years

Qualifications

  • General knowledge equivalent to two years of college
  • 5 years of related experience and/or training
    • Orequivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7 to 11 months of management experience
    • Peopleand/orproject management
  • State of Oklahoma journeyman\'s trade inspector license
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver\'s License and a driving record acceptable to the City\'s insurance carrier
