Voice Test Engineer:

ATEC is looking for an Engineer to perform system testing for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) voice program. Candidate will support the technical performance testing of the Air-to-Ground protocol converter (Converts EUROCAE ED-137C VOIP audio and signaling to analog voice and discrete control signals for FAA Radios) and Ground-to-Ground Protocol Converters (Converts EUROCAE ED-137C VOIP audio and signaling to telecommunications trunk audio and signaling for interfacing between FAA ED-137 compliant VOIP Voice Communication legacy telecommunication trunks).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Planning, developing, and executing Operational Test (OT) which validate Operational Suitability of ATC systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Required:

• FAA Test & Evaluation (T&E) experience of ATC Communication Systems

• Experience with IP to analog or discrete signal conversion delay, voice delay, idle channel noise, impulse noise, AGC, intermodulation distortion, and encoding/decoding of EUROCAE ED-137 messaging

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of EUROCAE ED-137 and VoIP

• Knowledge of current FAA Radio Control Equipment functionality and associated maintenance techniques via the Maintenance Data Terminal

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering and twenty (20) years of related work experience

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US

• Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation

• Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
