Insight Global Sales Engineer in El Cajon, California

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer to help develop new clients, maintain and grow existing customers, and lead proposal and bid efforts.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Work with project managers and responsibility engineers to help understand and meet customer expectations throughout the proposal process, during project work, and after project closeout

  • Forecast and manage business budget

  • Develop new clients by prospecting leads and cold calling

  • Work with project managers to establish a project budget

  • Work with project managers and engineers to assign work tasks and meet staffing requirements

  • Develop and grow partnerships with customers, general contractors, consultants, and material/hardware vendors

  • Direct the development of estimates and proposals - work with the in-house estimator to appropriately price proposals

Skills and Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as an applications engineer or as a sales engineer promoting instruments, valves, controllers, or system design engineering to customers in the pharmaceutical industry - Experience reading P&IDs (Piping & Instrument Diagrams)

  • Familiar with upstream and downstream pharmaceutical processes

  • Experience with preparing estimates

  • Experience with writing proposals and participating in bid efforts null
