Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, performs basic nondestructive testing to verify the structural integrity of Titanium and Aluminum Rotating Hardware. Uses conventional and automated ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy current and other NDT test methods, e.g., FPI.
Job Responsibilities
Conducts, certifies, and documents on Rotating Hardware to verify product conformance.
Process products through NDT applicable NDT methods, such as FPI, EC, UT and Radiographic.
Train and mentor Trainees/Level 1 NDT technicians.
Identifies opportunities for improving processes, procedures or equipment.
Performs and monitors daily systems checks.
Interfaces with peers, engineers, internal customers, and higher level NDT technician for assistance and identification of requirements to resolve manufacturing related process problems.
Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.
Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals, to include issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.
Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the United States Government.
Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High school education or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of experience in nondestructive testing processes in Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant, Radiographic, and Ultrasonic
3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment.
Must be a US Person (Us Citizen or Permanent Resident) per program requirements.
Preferred Qualification:
GKN Experience
Experience in a classroom setting of nondestructive testing of metallic and/or nonmetallic materials training.
Approved accumulated number of hours required on the job training and/or certification.
Must acquire and maintain nondestructive testing certification by passing required certification written and practical examinations.
Skills include knowledge of conventional and automated, robotic testing systems, good communications and computer skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
Plus if candidate has experience in FAA repair stations.

Familiarity with AS9145 APQP process or equivalent

Ability to stand for long periods of time
Lift up to 50 pounds
Withstand loud noise of a manufacturing shop environment
Good vision with or without correction-must not be color blind-NDT only
Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is between $29.00 - $31.00 per hour.
