RES Field Service Technician III in El Campo, Texas

Summary:

The Field Service Technician III will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements:

  • Takesdirection from senior site personnel.

  • Sets positive example for and mentors junior technicians

  • Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.

  • Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.

  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.

  • Identifies faulty orunderperforming equipment.

  • Useshand tools effectively.

  • Utilizesa computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Managessiteinventory.

  • Assist in development of site operating plans.

  • Followssite safety plan and safe work practices.

  • Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.

  • Interfaceswith project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).

  • Interfaceswith project subcontractors.

  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.

  • Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.

  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.

  • Attends work regularly andpunctually, as scheduled or expected.

  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

  • Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety andquality-orientedattitude.

Qualifications:

  • High school/GED General Education required.

  • Associate degreeRelatedTechnicalDegree preferred.

  • Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.

  • CertificationFAA Part 107 DronePilotpreferred.

  • 4+ years or moreRelatedelectricalmaintenanceexperiencerequired.

  • 2+years or moreMedium voltageelectricalworkexperiencerequired.

  • 1 year or more High voltageelectricalwork experience preferred.

  • Intermediate

  • High voltage electrical power systems

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Advanced

  • Low voltage,medium voltage, high voltageelectrical power systems

  • Drawings

  • Circuit theory

  • OSHA regulations

  • Equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.)

  • Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation

  • Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera)

  • ANSI/NETA/MTS

  • SCADA systems

  • Advanced

  • Hand tools

  • Abilityto reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.

  • Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.

  • ValidDriver’sLicense required.

Anticipated base salary range: $34 .13 - $39 .90

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
