Sylvan Learning -  of El Campo Full Job Description Upper Level Math/ Science Instructor/Homework Support Are you a WHIZ at math? Do you think Calculus is Cool? Algebra is Awesome? Trigonometry is Terrific? Physics is Phenomenal? Chemistry is Cool?  Do you enjoy explaining strategies to others? If the answer is YES, we want you to join our team as an Upper Level Math Instructor. As an Upper Level Math Instructor, you will work with students who need support understanding upper level math and science. Through our homework support program, instructors are able to work with students and guide them to a better understanding of intricate mathematical problems. You are required to have expertise in a range of upper level math areas, such as Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, College Prep Math to name a few. Sylvan specializes in personalized instruction for students in grades PK through college. There is no lesson planning, grading stacks of papers, or parent meetings. You are able to do what you love, which is TEACH. Job Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Math or Science( or currently enrolled and working on degreee) * Teaching Certification a plus, but not required * Experience in teaching or tutoring in the area of math and/or science * Ability to complete the Sylvan Math competency * Ability to manage a 3:1 setting or small group 8:1 * Availability 6-20 hours/week including some weekends   As a successful teacher you will: -Teach using Sylvan based programs -Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials -Reward students for completed assignments -Evaluate and document student progress -Communicate student needs to the center director -Inspire Students -Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment -Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan   What you get in return: As a Sylvan team member, you'll work in a fast-paced environment and make an impact in the lives of others!
