Major/Essential Functions:
Provides leadership in administration and operations of the ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program including teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, and promotion of residents, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care
Complies with the ACGME Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Psychiatry
Collaborates with the associate dean and assistant dean for graduate medical education, the department chair, and the affiliated clinical facilities to foster optimum clinical learning environment for resident education
Facilitates residents' professional growth
Teaches and supervises psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees in clinical and classroom settings
Provides high-quality patient care in outpatient clinic and/or consult/liaison psychiatry service
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Serves the academic community through participations in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated record of leadership and achievement in academic psychiatry
Experience as a program director or an associate program director in an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program
Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications
Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher

Required Qualifications:
M.D or D.O. degree
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in psychiatry
Current board-certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Texas medical license, or eligibility for licensure in Texas
A minimum of three years of educational experience in graduate medical education
