ADP is hiring a Manager, Workforce Operations. The Manager, Workforce Optimization role will lead the Tactical Workforce Advisor Team with oversight of the scheduling, real-time management, and reporting functions, to ensure that we have the resources required at the right time to meet the desired service goals, enabling an exceptional client experience. The role is also responsible for developing strategies and utilizing the appropriate tools and resources to analyze data and make recommendations to improve the operational efficiency of the business. This role will also partner closely with key business stakeholders to understand needs and execute on resourcing plans to successfully meet service levels to optimize performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily activities of the team to ensure that all work is completed according to scheduled deadlines with attention to quality standards, priorities, and overall goals

  • Enhanced understanding and implementation of Business Units strategic goals. Oversee the use of standard process workflows by team

  • Function as a consultant and business partner to other groups within ADP

  • Identify development needs across the team, working with Director to coordinate additional training as needed

  • Track various productivity and performance standards to ensure that established levels are achieved, especially during critical activity periods

  • Serve as an acting backup to the Director, providing leadership, guidance and direction to team members in the absence of the director

  • Manage escalated issues and provide direction.

  • Collaborate with peers to establish best practices

  • Analyze team statistics and prepare reports for the Director

  • Evaluate associates on performance and complete annual performance appraisals.

  • Work in collaboration with associate to establish Individual Development Plans.

  • Develop and administer corrective action and performance improvement plans.

  • Hire/Fire authority in conjunction with Human Resources.

  • May have budgetary responsibility.

  • May have oversight of Workforce Management to include scheduling, and succession planning.

  • Participate in task forces, strategic initiatives, stretch assignments and collaboration opportunities with other business units

Qualifications Required

  • At least 2 years of people leadership experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in workforce planning or related industry

  • Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions

  • Knowledge of MS Office applications required. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, coaching/feedback, and conflict resolution skills essential.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities is required.

  • Effective Interpersonal & Conflict Resolution Skills

  • Resolves potentially volatile client escalations.

  • Works with associates and managers across functions and at various levels within the organization to achieve the best possible outcome for the client and ADP.

  • People Management/Talent Development

  • Effectively provides positive and developmental feedback to associates.

  • Creates learning opportunities for the team to continually improve the team's performance.

  • Results Orientation/Accountability

  • Accountable for delivering on service level, productivity, and quality objectives.

  • Continues to pursue and follow-up on escalations until they are satisfactorily resolved.

  • Ability to work under the pressure of time constraints.

  • Ability to consistently deliver quality service when dealing with multiple high-priority issues.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Uses judgment to determine the best way to resolve an escalated issue.

  • Makes decisions regarding the need for further escalation.

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences could include:

  • Experience noted above, OR

  • Ability to assess team members' performance and provide motivational support

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to recognize basic procedural issues as they arise and escalate to the appropriate level

  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility and critical thinking skills and apply basic concepts in new situations

  • Proficient in the latest web technologies and working knowledge of various operating systems

  • Proficiency and in-depth knowledge of all pertinent ADP HR, Payroll and Benefits policies and procedures

  • Prior leadership training
