Job/Position DescriptionIf you want a place to work where you can establish a career filled with purpose, this isthe job for you!Nurse III (Long-term Care Regulation)Nurse III and#150; Market Rate Salary $85,419.68As part of a collaborative team of public servants, a nurse III protects residentsand#146; healthand safety by conducting on-site inspections and investigations, including investigationsof abuse, neglect, or exploitation, in Texas home health agencies and hospices to assesstheir compliance with state and federal laws and rules. This position offers a competitivestarting salary, excellent state benefits, including health insurance and retirement, andthe opportunity to travel to different facilities within a region regularly. In this front-linefield position, a nurse is mobile and flexible and performs minimal work at an office.However, the role does require writing reports detailing any deficiencies/violations againsta facility, remedies to correct those deficiencies and a narrative to support regulatorydeterminations. We also offer excellent health benefits{target="blank"}, a lifetime monthly retirementannuityas well as 401(k) and 457Programs{target="blank"} under the Employees Retirement System of Texas.Essential Job FunctionsUnder the direction of a program manager, a nurse III conducts on-site licensureinspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys infacilities to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations inthe following areas: admissions, transfers, and discharges; resident rights; quality ofcare assessment; quality of life assessment; resident care plans; social, psychological andrehabilitative services; provision of medical services.Communicates clearly and accurately with others (internally and externally) to provide,exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, or resolve issues or complaints in Texaslong-term care facilities.Conducts exit conferences with facility staff regarding findings and deficiencies. Completesinspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies, and narratives to support regulatoryfindings.Revisits home health agencies and hospices to verify correction of previously citedregulatory violations.
