Elizabeth School District Vaping Prevention Education Coordinator in Elizabeth, Colorado

POSITION: Vaping Prevention Education Coordinator

DUTIES: * Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing vaping prevention strategies to evaluate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. * Community Engagement: Organize and facilitate community and parent meetings to gather feedback, insights, and support for proposed changes in vaping prevention strategies. * Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to adapt policies based on community feedback and implement revised strategies effectively. * Educational Framework: Develop and implement a preventative and educational framework for vaping awareness and prevention that empowers students and families to prioritize their health. * Curriculum Development: Design and implement a curriculum tailored to students' needs, ensuring it addresses current vaping trends and educates on emerging nicotine products like Zyns. * Student Support: Provide direct support and resources to students and families in need of vaping prevention education and intervention. * Continuous Learning: Stay informed about new vaping trends, products, and youth behaviors to proactively adjust prevention strategies. * Advocacy and Empowerment: Empower students to take an active role in finding solutions to vaping-related challenges within the school environment, such as creating safe spaces free from vaping pressure.

REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field required; * Certification or licensure in mental health counseling or related discipline. * Experience working in educational settings, preferably with a focus on youth mental health or substance abuse prevention. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, educators, and community members. * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * Commitment to a holistic, student-centered approach to vaping prevention and education.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: * Master s degree

WAGE: $65,000-$79,4000

SHIFTS: 8-hour days/190 contract days

JOB SITE: Elizabeth High District
